How to Safely Add a Professional Marketing Agency to your Google My Business Account

Understanding how to safely add an agency to your Google My Business Account

If you decide to work with a professional digital marketing agency to improve your business’s local marketing efforts, then it is a good idea to add them to your Google My Business (GMB) Account. To safely do this, you can add them as a “Manager” or as an “Owner”.

Managers and Owners have the same abilities however, as an “Owner,” you will have the ability to add and remove other users from the account with the exception of removing the primary owner (the person that created the account). Therefore, Manager-level access is sufficient enough for your agency, however, giving them Owner access will give them the ability to better manage your Google My Business account.

The Importance of Google My Business

Google My Business is a great way to get your business on the map – literally on Google Maps. This should be one of the first things you do when you set up a business so that more potential customers can find you and trust your business.

Even if you don’t want customers to come to your business address (for example a factory, office, warehouse, sole trader working from home, etc.) Google My Business adds a significant amount of credibility to your business.

Additionally, you can link your Google My Business Profile to your website to help Google understand that the website belongs to a legitimate business. This helps your website rank higher in Google Searches and will ultimately lead to more customers finding and trusting your business.

Working with the right professional marketing agency may help to improve your Google My Business (GMB) profile, your website’s SEO and other digital marketing services such as Google Ads.

Ultimately, greater digital exposure is going to significantly benefit the way you do business. Since more people are using their phones and other devices to look for different products and services, your business’s digital exposure is no longer a luxury but rather a necessity.
